DPG-NIDS (Japan) Interactive Discussion

The DPG Senior Faculty held an interactive discussion with scholars from Japan's National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) on December 11, 2025. The NIDS delegation, led by Mr. Masuda Masayuki, Head of the China Division, included Mr. Oguma Shinya, Research Fellow. Colonel Yasumura Masashi, Air Attaché at the Embassy of Japan in India, also attended.  

The discussion provided valuable insights on the shifting regional and global security environment, great power competition, and the future of the QUAD. The DPG Senior Faculty shared their views on India’s security posture in the Indo-Pacific. Participants recognised and emphasised the indispensable nature of the India-Japan special strategic and global partnership.
