2nd Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum, Tokyo

The Delhi Policy Group and the Japan Institute of International Affairs organized the 2nd edition of the Japan-India Indo-Pacific Forum (5th Japan-India Track 1.5 Dialogue) in Tokyo on October 3-4, 2019. The theme of the Forum was “Navigating the New Great Power Rivalry” and its sessions covered Regional Security Outlook: Challenges and Opportunities for Japan and India in the Indo-Pacific; Japan-India Security Cooperation: Bilateral, Trilateral and Beyond; Prospects of Third Country Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific: Southeast Asia, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean Region; and Promoting Digital Connectivity in the midst of Digital Hegemonic Competition: Japan-India Cyber and Digital Cooperation. Participants included 24 strategic experts and government representatives from Japan and 10 from India. This premier Forum for India-Japan strategic communication and Track 1.5 discussion is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
