DPG Senior Faculty Holds Meetings in Washington D.C.
Date: June 26 - 30, 2023
A three member team of the DPG Senior Faculty led by Amb. H. K. Singh, Director General, held dialogues and interactions in Washington D.C. from June 26-30, 2023, with other members of the DPG Faculty joining relevant sessions virtually. These included a call on H.E. Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Ambassador of India to the United States; meetings with officials at the US NSC and US State Department; an interaction with US NIC officials; structured dialogues with US think tanks CSIS, Hudson Institute, Rand, and Stimson Centre; and a discussion with The Asia Group (TAG). Coming immediately after the transformational state visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States, these meetings provided a timely opportunity to exchange in depth perspectives with DPG’s US counterparts on the India-US comprehensive, global and strategic partnership, including new path breaking initiatives in the areas of critical technologies, trade and investment, and defence; and advancing shared interests in Indo-Pacific stability. With this visit, the DPG also further strengthened its longstanding knowledge exchanges and partnership with the India Chair at CSIS, led by Rick Rossow, which is a key US partner.
