DPG Senior Faculty Visits Indonesia
A four-member delegation of the DPG Senior Faculty, led by Amb. H.K. Singh, Director General, visited Jakarta from May 14-17, 2023 for high-level meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia and the ASEAN Secretariat, as well as structured dialogues with DPG’s think tank counterparts CSIS (Indonesia) and FPCI. Prior to these meetings, the DPG delegation interacted with the Heads of Indian Missions to Indonesia and to ASEAN. The DPG delegation also visited the Centre for Education and Training of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, where it made presentations to a group of mid-career Indonesian diplomats, followed by Q&A interaction. Amb. H.K. Singh hosted a dinner for Indonesian friends and dignitaries.
The overarching theme of DPG’s meetings in Jakarta was India and Indonesia as strategic partners in the evolving geopolitics of Asia. Major outcomes included online dialogues with the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, and regular annual consultations with CSIS (Indonesia).
