Brig. Arun Sahgal, Senior Fellow for Strategic and Regional Security, delivered a lecture to 35 IFS Officer Trainees of the 2021 batch and 2 Bhutanese diplomats on “Gaming  Exercise: Threat Assessment-External Environment” from 0930-1300 hrs on Friday, 1 July 2022.

Brig. Sahgal explained the concept and application of net assessment as a tool for strategic planning. This was followed by a Strategic Gaming Exercise designed to analyse and assess the future of the presently strained India- China relations. The talk also explored the complex geopolitical trends of the 21 st century to underscore the need for the application of net assessment as an essential tool for strategic planning.
