The DPG Senior Faculty held a virtual meeting with The Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security (JISS), Jerusalem, on Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza and the outlook for Israeli policies to counter regional security threats.
Prof. Efraim Inbar, President of JISS, and Prof. Hillel Frisch, Expert on the Arab World, JISS, made presentations on the unprecedented Hamas terrorist attacks inside Israel on October 7, 2023, their impact on Israeli society, the response of the Israeli Defence Forces against Hamas, and the wider national security threats faced by Israel from Hizbullah and other Islamist militant groups in the region.
In the Q&A interaction with the DPG Senior Faculty, the JISS speakers also provided the historical context of Israel’s experience with security and military threats, the current constellation of powers ranged against Israel’s interests, and the views and expectations of Israel’s allies and the international community.
