Talk on India’s Capability in Advanced Defence Technology By Dr. Satheesh Reddy, Chairman, DRDO

Dr. Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Department of Defence (R&D) and Chairman, DRDO delivered a talk on “India’s Capability in Advanced Defence Technology” at a DPG Virtual Event on March 29, 2022. This closed door event was aimed at bringing about an informed understanding among strategists and stakeholders of India’s capabilities and challenges in the field of advanced defence technologies.
Dr. Reddy apprised participants about the strides made by India in the fields of missiles and missile defence; long range weapon systems; aerospace; maritime domain systems; surveillance and reconnaissance; cyber and space. He also referenced lingering technology voids and related efforts underway to achieve national self-reliance in the defence sector. Finally, his talk covered the growing importance of DRDO-private sector-academia collaboration for creating a strong defence R&D and manufacturing eco-system.
The talk was followed by a Q&A interaction between Dr. Reddy and invited participants.
